Brign it Back Safely is a new Quake Live CTF league. An impressive 32 clans signed up. Tthe clans have been split up in 4 randomly seeded divisions. Each clan plays 1 match per week.
The top teams at the end of the season will be playing in the highest divisions for the next one.

A match is played 5on5 and using the Best of 3 format. Maps are decided as follows:
- Team Captains pummel (fight with gauntlet) in the middle of the map. No power-ups or health bubbles allowed
- Loser eliminates a map
- Winner eliminates a map. 3 maps remain
- Winner picks first map
- Loser picks second map
- The remaining map will be used as the third map, if required.

The Electonic Sports League have launched their first Quake Live Clan Arena competition. There are 48 clans enetered split into 8 groups of 6 teams.

Clans pick 1 map each. In case a third map has to be played, this map has to be picked by map elimination. The maps that were already played in the war are NOT an option anymore. Teams remove maps from the list of yet unplayed maps in alternating turns until 1 map is left. The team with the most roundwins after the first 2 maps decides who is going to start elimininating. In case of equal frags, the team on the left side of the match will decide.
The two highest ranked teams of each group will advance to the double elimination playoffs.

The first Quake Live TDM competition in Clanbase has closed signups with a massive 98 teams entering. There is no news on the Divisions and groups yet, as soon as we are aware of this we will post the fixtures for dobo.

Quake Live is finally going open beta on 24th February 2009. dobo have been involved in the beta testing since march 2008, and have seen some vast improvements in the game play and features.
The automatic updates, statistic databse and friends features are what online gaming should be all about. If you liked any of the quake series, you will love quake live, it's close enough to the original (quake 3) but has it's own twist.
But don't take our word for it, try it yourself at Quake Live.

There were two tournaments at this years Quake-con for the Quake Live Beta, CTF and 1v1. The tournaments proved popular with some top talent among the competitors, including Fox, Cypher, ZeRo4, Vo0, Griffin and Rapha to name but a few.
ZeRo4 and Cypher made it through to the finals, with Cypher taking the Championship honours.
The CTF cup was won by 'Billys mays daze' over 'Rage'. Congratulations to the winners, and to all who took part.
We still await a release date for Quake Live, but dobo are already looking to recruit for their new QL TDM and CTF squads.

A number of dobo members are currently involved in the testing of Quake Live, also known as Quake Zero.
QL is a first-person shooter video game project from id Software announced in 2007. It is said that id is very much focusing on the multiplayer aspect of the game, so as to nudge the game into succeeding its predecessor Quake III Arena as a "major league" FPS eSports competition game.
It will be released as a free version of Quake III Arena launched and played via a web browser, but will also be playable full screen.
Quake Live will be backed financially by in-game advertising from IGA Worldwide. Skill-based matchmaking will be powered by a "metagame engine" developed by GaimTheory.
Initial game play needs some tweeks but generaly there are good comments about the potential of QL. As Q4 saw it's last league game some months ago we will be looking at moving to QL when it goes live, although no dates for this have been set.

dobo get silver in Clanbase Q4 CTF Open Cup01/21/2008

dobo took second place after a successful campaign in the Clanbase Open Cup Fall 2007. Victories against reigning champions from spring 2007 cup Wolfclaw and German allstar team 2Fast. The only team dobo couldn't beat was K1ck who beta them in the Table and in the Final, although the Final was a much closer game than the early rounds. This shows how much dobo improved over the season.

dobo finish 2nd in jolt Q4 CTF Div 108/14/2007

dobo managed 2nd place without losing a match during the competition. dobo only lost 2 maps overall gaining an 80% record of maps played and those 2 maps were lost to eventual winners Te4m and third place k*os (now GT). Well played Te4m as winners of the competition who beat dobo into 2nd. dobo were the only team to win a map against the high skilled Te4m. Well played to all the teams in the Q4 CTF league from all divisions, and a special thanks to head admin Implod for running the league.
